Current Government guidance is that no holidays should be authorised in term time. Parents are required to notify school in writing of their intention to take their child out of school in term time well in advance. The absence will be recorded as an unauthorised absence and will be kept on the child's records. High levels of unauthorised absence may trigger a visit to the family home. Such visits are to determine the well being of the family but specifically the child for safeguarding reasons. When such visits occur then the child will need to be seen by staff face to face.
